Giulio Zuanetti graduated in Medicine at the University of Milan in 1983 and specialized in Cardiology at the same University. He moved to US for a Post-doc Fellowship in Cardiovascular Research at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, where his research focused on understanding mechanisms of action of antiarrythmic drugs. After moving back to Italy he was Senior Scientist at the Mario Negri Institute for Pharmacological Research and was involved in some of the largest trials in cardiovascular research within the GISSI group (Italian Group for the Study of the Survival of Myocardial Infarction). He has authored several articles on some of the leading titles, including Circulation, JACC, Drugs. and others. He then became progressively involved in scientific publishing within the Adis-Wolters Kluwer group, where he took positions of increasing managerial responsibility, and his main interest focused on journals dealing with the R&D of drugs, their access to market and their use at the Point of Care He is currently CEO and General Manager of Wichtig International, and is acting as Managing Editor for Medicine Access @ Point of Care while the search for an established Editor in Chief is in progress.
